Dr. Mona Houshiar

Dr. Mona Houshiar truly believes in the importance of preventing dental problems and in educating families about healthy smiles for life. In treating patients, her philosophy is based on using age-appropriate techniques and loving attention in order to foster an atmosphere of trust and comfort.

Dr. Houshiar received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2009 from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). She completed a two-year general dentistry residency at the VA West Los Angeles Healthcare Center, followed by postdoctoral residency training at the University of Connecticut, where she received her certificate in pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Houshiar believes that providing high-quality, evidence-based dentistry requires constant learning and updating of knowledge. An active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association, she attends numerous seminars and courses on the latest in pediatric dental technology.

Born in Oklahoma City, Dr. Houshiar grew up in Tehran, Iran, and lived in many cities, including Vancouver, Los Angeles, and West Hartford before settling in Houston. She spends her free time traveling, working out, playing tennis and piano, sampling international cuisines, and enjoying friends and family. In addition to her commitment to serving children in her practice, Dr. Houshiar is also involved in providing community service to underprivileged children outside the office as well.
